POSITION SUMMARY:  The role of the Product & Safety Manager is to develop new product offerings with the integration of Caterpillar systems components.  Perform market analysis on the market, share, orders, and profit along with percentages of total revenue to support strategic decision-making. Pursue new areas of service opportunities. The second duty and responsibility is to carry out corporate safety goals initiatives and ensure that every department complies along with overseeing PPE requires for the entire service group


PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to): 

  • Develop Service Product Support opportunities for new lines of service and support to be offered to the customer.
  • Measure and monitor the efficiencies of the product service group.
  • Coordinate activities and initiatives in conjunction with Corporate Marketing and Sales Management including events and trade shows.
  • Measure and track the market share of services offered by equipment and the potential market.
  • Review, analyze and report Parts sales and related profitability measures.
  • Monitor competitor activity; in terms of Parts sales and related websites.
  • Responsibility for Product Support content on Patten’s Intranet and Internet site.
  • Prepare weekly order report based on actual work order openings submitted by Service.
  • Prepare monthly parts report, PINS data, CSA growth, financial trending, etc.
  • Responsibility for customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Lead campaign initiates as designated by management.
  • Special projects as assigned by management or Six Sigma teams.
  • Provide monthly Safety Dashboard data ,attend HRP meetings and branch safety audits
  • Disseminate all safety information to all departments, assist in accident investigation and reports
  • Support and assist as liaison between manufacture and PSSR’s on Emissions after treatment upgrades on all engines

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  The ability to supervise and motivate others to accomplish and exceed goals with a “Team” player attitude. Must have strong planning and personal relations skills, and the ability to listen and be creative when faced with a problem. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and employees.



Post high school technical degree, Bachelors degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience.


SKILLS/ABILITIES:  Mechanical and electrical knowledge in the safe operation and maintenance of electrical power generators, automatic transfer switches, switchgear, and uninterruptible power supplies. Self-motivated, energetic individual with excellent written and oral communication skills
