Power Rental Service Supervisor

The role of the Service Supervisor is to maintain and monitor the Power rental fleet, supervise and all union shop personnel include supporting development the rental group. The position also call for extreme flexibility to task as the rental business from day to day can be very fluid and fast pace. In order to be effective, in overseeing the rental fleet and shop supervisor the responsibilities and accountabilities below must be understood.


PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Actively involved in rental department process and procedure development and implementation
  • Supervises all Shop union and or nonunion personnel
  • Actively involved in rental department process implementation with focus towards continuous improvement. Monitor existing processes to ensure compliance.
  • Work closely with Rental Operations Leader to ensure customer and job fulfillment & monitor shop profitability. Emphasis on process improvement through enhanced knowledge of iRental.
  • Work closely with Invoicing Specialist to ensure accurate customer billing.
  • Ensure timely processing of contract documents including check in/ check out paperwork for timely billing.
  • Spot check yard and rental ready line on a daily basis and work with service technicians to ensure quality control and fleet mix is appropriate.
  • Obtain 100% of shop objectives contributing to business plan net revenue goals.
  • Contribute to overall financial utilization per year as outlined through annual Smart Goals.
  • Maintain daily involvement with inside sales staff to include training on any operational issues.
  • Enforce company safety program, and continue all departments current shop safety procedures including weekly safety meetings.
  • Support “field management” strategy by providing Rental Manager with information regarding all field failures. Field Failure Report to be submitted a minimum of once a month.
  • Twice per year, review each shop technician's job performance against objectives and standards.
  • Reconcile inventory each week.
  • Reconcile equipment damage account each week and ensure six sigma process is followed on all customer damage.
  • Assist with training for shop technicians on all rental processes and develop training schedule for each position.
  • Complete all training as assigned



High School graduate and a minimum five years of Rental Equipment service on engine and electrical experience and/or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.  Previous supervisory experience in a fast paced multi-tasking environment is a must for this position.   




Three to five years of relevant supervisory experience in the EPG/Industrial/Marine or Rental Industry.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are required with proficiency in DBS, DSI, ACT, Sales Link, SIS, Power net and other business/Windows based software applications preferred.
