Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Diagnose, repair, recondition and adjust equipment as required to service facilities and greatly reduce contracted services. Also complete all paperwork on the troubled equipment to which the individual is assigned.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES (including but not limited to):

  • Must have good working knowledge of 120/240/460 volts and single phase/3-phase electrical
  • Mechanical abilities to service compressed air systems, water piping, drainage systems, building lighting, exhaust and fresh air systems, HVAC, HV, MAU systems, parking lot maintenance, general roof repairs and ground maintenance (concrete, asphalt, general landscaping and wood work).
  • Attends training sessions as required
  • Works in neat, orderly and safe manner, constantly seeking to improve methods and the safety of others
  • Maintains a positive attitude and role model for the other employees to follow
  • Maintains a minimum set of tools required for job performance
  • Cares and maintains company machines/equipment and ensures co-workers are doing the same
  • Maintains personal company service literature and maintains a high awareness of technical changes in the industry
  • Test, diagnose and adjust equipment failures
  • Repairs/replaces defective parts on machinery/equipment
  • Disassembles components and clean parts
  • Inspects components to insure maximum parts are being used to control repair costs
  • Creates repair estimates and submit information to substantiate estimates
  • Assist the company in any necessary duties to achieve company goals
  • Predictable and regular attendance is required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: none

Qualifications

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma including a specialized technical/mechanical course or equivalent years experience as a technician preferred
  • 3-5 years direct facility mechanical experience
  • Combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to operate various hand/power tools & equipment (i.e. drill press, power saws, powered equipment, pipe bender, scissor lift and fork lift, etc)
  • Must be able to comprehend, speak and write fluent the English language
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
