  • Overview


    The position will develop and maintain processes and procedures related to engineering and project management as it relates to special and modified products, product implementation, and document management.   


    PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

    • Responsible for the development and delivery of engineering sales revenue from our aftermarket offerings to customers and prospects in the Patten’s A.O.R.
    • Utilize and develop additional procedures to manage project costs throughout the sales cycle.
    • Develop standardized procedures for project management, change management and document and process control for drawings, engineering orders and design changes.
    • Implement standard processes for communication to Sales Department / Sales Manager for any commercial or customer related issues which may affect project profits or customer relationships.
    • Achieves and exceeds revenue quota targets by winning new contracts and orders through prospecting and developing new customer relationships.
    • Drive continuous improvement of product implementation processes, standards, and methodologies at a project management level.
    • Responsible for the process of project assignment and prioritization for the PM team and build up technicians. Establish and implement processes for tracking status of all project related activities to maintain compliance with delivery and deadlines.
    • Maintains an ongoing relationship with prospective clients continuously assessing and communicating how we can meet their needs.
    • Work to resolve issues with electrical, general and direct customers, commissioning agents and manufactures.
    • Electrical system site studies such as relay coordination and arc flash.
    • Protective device setting and calibration.
    • Knowledge of infrared thermography, RICE NEESHAP, sound measuring devices and other electrical system diagnostic and predictive maintenance tools.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, year end and multi-year backlog reporting through IMACS.
    • A valid driver’s license and insurability is required.



    • This position will require supporting our business development initiatives, requiring the Engineering Manager to initiate and organize meetings and phone calls with prospects, prepare letters and email and will require experienced prospecting and solutions closure skills.
    • Experience in Profit & Loss statement management.
    • Six Sigma experience preferred.
    • Experience working with UL, CSA and other regulatory agencies.
    • Five plus years engineering experience including manufacturing processes, product design, material specifications, material costing and project management preferred.
    • CAD Experience


    Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.


    Mathematical Skills: The ability to calculate, comprehend and report advanced financial information as derived from multiple operating systems.
