  • Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of a journeyman, perform service repairs and preventive maintenance; provides superior service and represents our professional image.


    PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

    Perform maintenance, Electronic diagnosis, and repairs to Caterpillar truck engines and Caterpillar vocational trucks, along with O.E.M chassis components. Operate A/C recovery machine. Repair air brake & ABS systems, wheel end components: seals, bearings, and brakes. Repair drive train, clutch, transmissions, and differentials. Hydraulic and trailer repairs a plus.  Communicate with customer and supervisor. Complete the proper documentation and data. Perform other duties as assigned.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position requires no supervision of staff.



    • Technical school graduate or equivalent experience required. Knowledge of CATERPILLAR truck engines preferred, but not required. Engine electronics, air brakes, (ABS) systems, air conditioning and drive train components required. Automotive related technician experience will be considered.  CDL preferred but not required. Must be a self-starter with good time management, planning, organization skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and customer service skills are needed. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to work overtime when needed with the ability to lift 75lbs.  Computer literate with experience with programs such as Microsoft, Excel and Outlook required. Previous experience with Caterpillar programs is a plus.  High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Must have a valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate). Position is for 1st shift with potential for overtime as needed.
